I cannot believe how easy this was to make and love my first organic/all natural meal! Honestly! And add on to that, how delicious & affordable! NOBODY knew (okay, it's just me and my guy... but he was clueless until afterwards that we had just eaten organically)!
So, what did we have? Pretty simple actually! I cooked up some organic, 90% fat free beef patties purchased at Wegmans. The best part was I ate them with a whole, huge, vidalia onion! Oh my sweetness! Smothered the onions on top with a slice of organic cheddar (purchased at the Whole Foods Co-op).
On the side, some Alexia brand sea-salt fries. I get these most often at Erie County Farms here in Erie. They sell a small bag for $2.69 & that bag serves 4 (although I will confess we tend to eat the entire bag between the 2 of us with just a few leftovers)
It was a simple but so tasty meal!
Unfortunately the pictures I snapped of the actual meal, I thought I sent and then deleted from my phone but ooooops.... I didn't send them!!!! But I promise next time to send them!
Now comes the amazing part.... the cost per serving was about $2.42. So I'm thinking it's NOT impossible to eat organic & stay on a budget.
*Notes: my onion was not "organic" -- Reason? I believe anything I can peel and clean, such as an onion, I am fairly safe in buying at the cheaper non-organic price. I know, some will argue this but for the cost efficiency I have to choose which items I can afford to buy organic and which it will not be the end of the world NOT being organic. Those items I can peel and clean in the fruits and veggies I will buy non-organic simply for cost efficiency.
